UNIVERSITY PARTNERS

Our partnerships with colleges and universities are an essential component of our work-based learning model success. Education at Work helps students gain real-world work experience, complete their degree, graduate with less debt, and launch a satisfying and successful career.

At the heart of our success lies our robust partnerships with colleges and universities. By joining forces with Education at Work, partner institutions play a pivotal role in empowering students to excel academically, stay committed to their studies, and graduate with reduced financial burdens. Our program not only enhances classroom performance but also equips students with real-world work experience and invaluable in-demand skills, setting them on the path to a high-quality job post-graduation and successful career.

Education at Work is strengthening economic mobility for college graduates entering the workforce by transforming how higher education institutions, organizations, and employers leverage work-based learning by providing an easy-to-navigate eco-system for accelerating collaboration.

Fostering excellent and equitable graduate outcomes.

Education at Work helps our university partners address the challenge of disproportionate access to paid internship opportunities to students of color, low-income, and first-generation students. Our model helps students earn the money they need to stay in school while empowering them to achieve higher post-graduation career outcomes –  whether that be launching their careers with a high-quality first job or graduate school-and starting on a path to a life of impact.

Our partnership with Education at Work puts students’ coursework in context of real-life work-based experiences. It is an opportunity to bring academic concepts to life. Through Education at Work, our students will have a unique opportunity to provide technical support services on behalf of a world-class economy, while reducing their debt and enjoying a student-centered work environment and related soft-skills development.

HOW DO WE DO IT?

Like Education at Work, our university partners are eager to make sure that students who have the greatest need are most effectively served. We work with institutions to identify students who are most likely to benefit by working with E@W. Then, we collaborate with the colleges and universities to support students with financial aid, enrollment, and career services.

Students enjoy an early introduction to the corporate world. They get a head-start understanding workplace etiquette and best practices. Some move up to become supervisors of their peers. And, best of all, they learn to be client-oriented and professional. Their training is done under our watch, payment is handled by Education at Work and the student may even receive professional credentialling during their time with you. In the end, you have a vetted, experienced coworker, ready to accept additional responsibility on Day One.

Arizona State University

Education at Work has a strong partnership with Arizona State University in Tempe, Arizona where EAW has partnered with businesses across multiple industries including, healthcare, global technology, and financial services.

E@W students are going in with two or three years experience versus someone who may have worked their entire college career but might not have had the opportunity to work for a Fortune 500 company. That gives them a leg up; it speaks to the critical thinking and other skill sets that employers are looking for.
- Edmundo Hidalgo, Former Vice President of Outreach and Partnerships, Arizona State University

We partner with academic institutions across the country to create true “campus communities” where the support for E@W is embraced because of our nonprofit mission and the impact of our tuition assistance.
