Education At Work

A New Chapter:

Education at Work Joins American Student Assistance

This is a pivotal moment for Education at Work (E@W). We are thrilled to announce that we are now part of the American Student Assistance (ASA) family, a non-profit leader in career exploration and career readiness. This partnership is a natural fit, uniting two organizations with a shared mission to help students succeed in their education and careers.

Together, we’re ready to expand our impact at a critical time. For the first time in a decade, the job market is becoming more challenging for recent college graduates. The rise of AI and automation is changing the skills needed for entry-level positions, making it harder for students to land a good first job without relevant, real-world experience.

American Student Assistance (ASA)

This is exactly where Education at Work comes in. Our model helps students bridge the gap between college and a career by offering authentic work-based learning opportunities.

From Our CEO, Jane Swift

“This is personal for me. As a former Pell Grant recipient, college transformed my life,” says Jane Swift, CEO of Education at Work. “Many of us at E@W have similar stories. We are determined to make these same pathways possible for today’s young adults and to conquer the generational challenge that AI and automation are creating in the workforce.”

What This Means for Students

By joining forces with ASA, we can bring our evidence-informed approach to a much larger scale, creating more opportunities for students across the country.

  • More Ways to Earn and Learn: We’ll be investing in our programs to create new, adaptable work-based learning opportunities that respond to the changing job market.
  • A Stronger Network: Our partnership will connect students to a wider network of employers and resources, giving them a real advantage in their job search.
  • Expanded Reach: With ASA’s support, we can open new Talent Hubs and expand into new markets, bringing resume-worthy opportunities to more students.
  • A Bigger Stage: We’ll have a greater platform to share our best practices and highlight the success of our students, universities, and employers, advocating for the value of work-based learning in post-secondary education.

The Road Ahead

This collaboration is just the beginning. Together, Education at Work and American Student Assistance will build a more equitable future for students across the nation. We are confident that this partnership will not only transform individual lives but also help build a stronger, more skilled workforce for generations to come.
